Levitt Center

RUN TIME: 1:31

LEAD IN- I'm sure everyone has seen them, the black and yellow signs on the Cambus or bulletin boards with the words Phil Was Here. And many people probably have wondered who in fact, Phil is, and in reality, Phil isn't even a human being.

(VO)

Phil was here is a campaign lead by the Levitt Center for University of Advancement, located next to Hancher. It's the strange, but beautiful looking building that many students have never been inside but have always wondered what goes on in there. The Levitt Center is home to the UI Foundation, a group dedicated to recieving donations for advancing the Univeristy. It was built in 1988 and has seen huge success over the 11 years it has stood.

The campaign is found on facebook if you search Phil Was Here and they try to post new things daily. But why Phil?

Around 80 students work in the Levitt Center, making phone calls to Alumni and boosters asking for donations to the University.

The Levit Center is a state of the art building and has given the UI Foundation more room to work with.

Anchor TAG- The UI Foundation, since the opening of the Levitt Center, has helped fund many new buildings such as the Pomerantz center, the Adler Journalism building, the UI athletics Hall of Fame and many others. For the University of Iowa, I'm Brandon Hurley.
